Kiernan Jarryd Forbes professionally known as Aka who was a South African Rapper, record producer, musician, songwriter, and businessman. He came into the limelight after releasing his single Victory Lap from his debut studio album Altar Ego (2011).
He is also known for his studio albums Levels (2014), Be Careful What You Wish For (2017), Touch My Blood (2018), and Mass Country (2023). Forbes made an appearance on WWE Live as a special guest. Both Capetown and Johannesburg hosted the events in April 2018.
He was one of the well-renowned musicians of his generation and the greatest-selling South African hip-hop artist of all time. Sadly, Forbes was shot and died outside of a restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023. He had become the icon of today’s youngster but after hearing the news of his death it broke his heart.

Aka was born on 28 January 1988 in Capetown, South Africa in a well-reputed family and Christian house. He was raised playing with his siblings in his hometown. He holds the African Nationality.
His father’s name is Tony Forbes and his mother’s name is Lynn Forbes but his parent’s occupation is unknown. He has a brother named Steffan Forbes. However, Aka had not revealed more information regarding his family background.
Aka completed his primary schooling at Holy Cross Convent and Greenside Primary School. Later, he moved to Johannesburg at a very young age and enrolled at St. John College where he completed his High School Education.

Afterward in 2009, Forbes released three singles: My Walk, I Do, and I Want It All. On 28 July 2010, Aka released the lead song off his first studio album Altar Ego, which is titled I Want It All. When Victory Lap topped local radio charts in South Africa, it became well-known. Because of its popularity, the album was recognized with multiple awards in 2011, including the Metro FM award for best hip-hop.

Aka Death
On 10 February 2023, Aka had planned to perform At Durban’s Yogo Nightclub as part of his birthday celebration.
Tebello Motsoano was one of the friends whom Forbes and his companions were waiting outside Wish, a restaurant on Florida Road at around ten o’clock that evening.
The gunman approached them, shot Forbes in the head, and then killed Motsoano with additional gunfire from his partner, who was waiting by Forbes’s car. Then, the two gunmen ran away from the site.
Forbes and Motsoano were declared dead on the spot. However, the identity of Forbes’ killer is still a mystery. After his sudden death, a large number of people including his supporters paid their tributes to him.

Aka Relationship
Aka began dating DJ Zinhle who was a popular producer, and social media star, at the end of 2014. Aka and Zinhle had a daughter together and gave birth to a daughter named Kairo Olwethu Forbes in August 2015.
Aka and Zinhle separated a few months after the birth of their daughter. Later, he made a connection with Bonang Matheba who was a famous actress, presenter on television, radio host, and social media star from Africa but they parted ways in December 2017.
