Her father, Venkat Reddy Kata was a professor at Andhra University. And Amrapali’s mother, Padmavathi is a homemaker.
She has also a sister who works at the Revenue Department of Karnataka. Amrapali grew up in Andhra Pradesh and has spent most of her childhood there.

Amrapali Kata started her elementary schooling at Sai Satya Mandir School, Vishakhapatnam. Her teachers say that she was very studious and intelligent from her early times.
